Here's the brief (from OCR) for the Prelim Exercise:
You do NOT get assessed on this piece of production work, but you DO have to do it - it has to be on your blog within the next couple of weeks, and you have to have been a part of a group that has produced this exercise.
Apologies, but I won't be in the lesson today - I have to be at RA filming for the Prospective Y7 Parents Evening next week...
SO, please complete the following:
Choose 5 films that you think have the most interesting opening 2-3minutes.
Try to get the openings embedded onto your blogs, but I know this may be difficult if they're not already on YouTube.. if you can't get the opening vids, try to get screenshots and explain what's happening.
Comment about each one and explain why you've chosen them.
Try to think about the choice of shots rather than the simple action of the scene...
One of the most iconic openings to a film is from 'The Usual Suspects', below:
Why do you think this is?
Get this onto your blogs and write a short paragraph about it, offering your thoughts and opinions as to why it might be held in such high regard by the global film industry.
Make sure your blog is FULLY up to date by the end of Monday P1 - remember, first come first served on the Macs for the blogging lesson - I'll be in there from 8:15am. If you want to get into 08 earlier, ask for the Media room key from the office or come find me in mine.
